Dr. David Pai (Principal & Founder)
info@pailaw.comDr. David Pai holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a J.D. (Cum Laude) from the University of Houston Law Center. Both institutions have been ranked among the top ten in the U.S. for their excellence in chemical engineering and intellectual property law programs, respectively. Prior to establishing the firm, David had worked for Shell Oil Company (in Corporate R&D, software systems development, production scheduling, gasoline regulations, and Chinese-American joint venture) and for Microsoft Corporation (in software development and worldwide volume licensing).
Admitted to practice law in Washington and Texas and before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and U.S. District Court (Western District of Washington), David is also a registered patent attorney in the United States and in Taiwan, where he graduated from the National Taiwan University.
For many years, David has been actively prosecuting patents - in the electrical, chemical, biotechnology, and mechanical fields. He has also developed a strong, comprehensive trademark practice. In addition to being fluent in Chinese (Mandarin), he is able to read Japanese, Spanish and German.
